Calculator inputs and estimates
Calculator inputs are processed in the application to produce the estimate shown in your browser. Home Cost Signal does not provide an account or saved-estimate feature, and it does not intentionally store completed estimates in an application database. Copy and print actions use your browser.
Hosting logs
Home Cost Signal is hosted by Vercel. Vercel may process basic request, device, network, security, and diagnostic information in server and platform logs to deliver and protect the service. Retention and access are subject to the hosting configuration and provider practices.
Optional analytics
When the configured GA4 measurement ID is present, Home Cost Signal can send approved product events such as calculator views and steps, estimate completion, copy, print, methodology views, and source-link opens. Events use broad categories such as project type, material or finish category, location resolution level, and confidence label. The analytics allowlist is designed not to send raw ZIP codes, exact project quantities, exact estimate amounts, permit overrides, contact information, or other raw user-entered values.
After an estimate, an optional question may record whether a contractor quote is below, within, or above the planning range, or whether no quote has been received. The event includes only that category—not the quote amount, estimate values, contractor details, or contact information. Because GA4 may use browser identifiers, this feedback is not described as fully anonymous.
GA4 may use browser identifiers or cookies according to Google's implementation and the visitor's browser settings. When the measurement ID is not configured or the tag is blocked, calculator functionality continues without analytics.
Contact requests
If you email contact@homecostsignal.com, the email provider and recipient process the information you include. Do not send sensitive financial, insurance, identity, or property records.
Third parties, retention, and choices
Vercel hosts Home Cost Signal, and Google provides the configured analytics integration. Their own retention practices may apply. You can limit analytics identifiers with browser privacy controls, cookie settings, or content blockers. Because the service has no account or saved-estimate database, there is no account profile to delete.
Changes
This disclosure should be updated if storage, analytics, contact, or other data practices change. Last updated July 19, 2026.
