Cost planning that shows its work.
Home Cost Signal helps US homeowners build an informed budget before requesting contractor bids.
What the service does
The current product is intentionally focused on roof replacement. It combines your project details with national material baselines, official state roofing-labor data, and documented assumptions to show low, typical, and high planning ranges.
Why estimates are ranges
Roof measurements, product specifications, access, crew availability, local code, permits, weather, and conditions hidden below the old roof all affect a real bid. A range makes that uncertainty visible instead of presenting false precision.
Sources and versions
Production sources, documented assumptions, and secondary validation references have distinct roles. Model and data versions appear with the result so a homeowner can see when the estimate method and supporting data were updated.
Independent planning use
Home Cost Signal does not currently sell user contact information to contractors, and the calculator does not ask for a name, email address, or phone number. Results are informational planning tools, not contractor quotes, appraisals, or guarantees.
